Clutch gearbox

I remember when I was running the clutch box the Rotator really impressed me. I even ran a 4 blade Power Shift and was revving my motor up to 6,000RPM's while the PS prop sat still the I would just dump the clutch. I never broke anything and to top it all off I would squirt it with 250HP of nitrous. If anything should have broke my gearbox that was it. After that when I tore it apart and saw no damage at all. I switched to Rotators plus the fact their $500 to $600 cheaper. Man that was some fun a 600HP plus motor held around 6,000RPM with a four blade 80" Power Shift I would just dump the clutch and grab the N2O and away you go. That combo was so much fun to drive plus I could sit still near a ramp or dock. That clutch box is sitting on a shelf maybe it's time to dust it off.

Trust me I grew balls about 500 RPM at a time. It took me awhile before I had the brass to dump it over 3,000RPM. Actualy the first person was a freind who just got in it an held her to the floor and dumped it. AFTER I TOLD HIM NOT TOO! He got the ride of a life that's for sure.

I used to be one of em, Thunder, but I don't heal as fast as I used to anymore .... .

that reminds me of the first time i used atrany brake on a1200lb paddle tire 800hp mud dragster it took a while to find my balls

Adrenaline baby that's what it's all about. Kind of like doing your first double on a dirt bike you know it's either gonna hurt like hell or be absolutely awesome. Paddle tires are so cool I use to run one on a CR500 and man did people hate me passing them.

adrenalin is the reason this site exist ive never seen anyone of question able fortitude driving a airboat no matter the combination, we are all crash test dummies .

Plum, you are so right. If our boats didn't have to have balls we'd all be running outboard Bayliners. :)

How do you make this set up for a Caddy? I am interested in this clutch system.

OK so you let it slip that you had the clutch setup with a Rotator. Can you point us the right direction? How much work to build one? :?

I know it was patented. Art Malone came up with the idea and built the first one. I just got with Bud and I drew one up and had Classic modify my existing Rotator. It was shelfed because at the time it was only good for hill racing but now it may be needed for the car motor guy's using high gear ratios swinging huge slow props with ton's of pitch. I need to speak with Bud before I blurt out some things!

I swear if you tell me I will take your secret to my grave. I am about to buy a new rotator gear reduction and 3 blade super wide. I would hate to spend this money just to have to buy somthing new for this set up.

I believe if your running a 1.7 or 2to1 it would be a waste of money there is no need for it unless your boat has a huge prop with a ton of pitch!

I believe he is going to a super wide and a 2.68 ratio.
