cont 520 fuel injection return line

Does anyone know if the fuel line coming out of the round unit which sits on top of the engine which has lines going to each injector. Can this line be plugged off or if not where would i connect it to, This motor has been sitting in storage and before i would go to the expense to switch it over to a carb set up i want to see if by chance if it will run with the inj set up ok. Any thoughts would be helpfull. Thanks

The unit that sits on the motor is known as the fuel manifold or also called a spider. The line coming out of the manifold is supposed to connect to the fuel control unit mounted on the throttle body. The control unit has an inlet, outlet, and return line that comes out of it.
