4 cyl 150. We screwed the oil return line fitting in to tight and it cracked. Anyone know what they are made of? Can it be welded. Better off to replace, and if so, where can we get one?
Sounds like you are talking about the thick aluminum valve covers. I'm sure someone can weld them. You could also go with the steel cover and braze on a fitting. The best thing to do is to get an accessory case that has the hole for an oil return line.
On my last Cessna 150 I put on a dry vacuum and did away with the oil separator. Lots of options.
