County dive team chief returns after week of airboat recover

BRIAN EDWARDS stands next to his Search and Rescue airboat Thursday at his home in Fremont. Edwards, head of the Sandusky County Dive Team, used the airboat to rescue Hurricane Katrina victims from flood waters in Louisiana. The airboat is usually used for ice rescues here in Ohio.

The exhaustion was obvious even in Brian Edwards' voice as he spoke of the week he spent in New Orleans with his airboat, churning through murky, stinking waterways that used to serve as the city's downtown streets. . .
