Crankshaft Hub

Okay guys, the time has come to start the search for a crankshaft hub for my E-185. It has a 20 spline (I think), pics are under my gallery. I really dont want to tear the motor down, pull the crank, and weld a hub on. Does anyone know of other options out there? I am planning on using an old wood prop to start/try the engine out with it. If no options exist, I am going to design a hub using a spline on CAD and get a local machine shop to build it. I also thought of using a sprocket, cut off the teeth, and use a taper lock bushing with a key to hold the shaft on, and still use the threads on the shaft for a nut.

Any help? Pictures would help too if anyone has seen something that would work.

Thanks,

Brent

man you want to be careful here

taking the crank out and welding a 1/2 face plate is the best choice.

the sprocket idea with this engine  I am game to try most anything but that would scare me!!

Here is a 2nd opinion find or have made a spline collar to match the shaft and lock in place with a pin then add you 1/ face plate to that so the whole assembly will slide over the shaft and lock in place, there your ready for your prop adapter

Find the correct hub and have it machined, and bore the center of a wood prop. We did 3 of these for geared Franklins. Also did 2 or 3 O-435. The Lycomings are still working after 25 years

i got another quest. i got a 0-200 cont. it has a small bolt pattern
who can make an adapter to use my other prop(standard size pattern
like on my gpu)
thanks jimmy

So has anyone ever seen a spline shaft used on a powershift/sensenich hub. Could you do this on a Whirlwind hub (would you have to bore out the hub)?
