Just a bit of a report to everyone about some good folks.
I had the pleasure of having supper with Chris, Charity and their kids this evening. great food and conversation and good people. Was really a good meal of BBQ Pig !
After supper Chris and I went over to his shop and I got to see his work in progress. This means I got to see inside what is covered with paint by the time the rigs are delivered. So here is what I observed.
Nice square cuts that fit. Bends are all radiused the same and where there are horizontal bends the vertical allignment is not wandering around. It is all nice and square. I saw Dave's (Waterthunder) Houseboat in the shop, or is that the Queen Mary?. The motorstand is without doubt very substantial. Nothing to worry about there. The X-parts are square and the wleds are even, not wandering around in thickness and width. All the metal is new metal. Chirs has some nice jigs he uses to make the rigging parts too. His motor mounts are solid and should hold way more HP than they weill ever be tasked with. Nice triangulations too. for my money its done correctly.
I saw nothing to caution anyone about or worry about. I certainly would run any boat Chris rigs any day. Quality one of craftsmanship and great results. Obviously Chris has developed good shop practices and procedures and its shows in his craftsmanship.
If anybody is looking for good prices and quality craftsmanship Chris is your man. At least you should check with him before ya spend money. You won't be wasting your time.
Thought it would be of value to the forum to report to everyone because I got to look at the work as it is going to gether not a pretty deliverable shiny painted product. I saw it in the rough and have no reservations about giving Chris a thumbs up rating any day.
Thanks for the tour Chris.
Check him out.
