Dirty Jobs

I was watching Dirty Jobs last night on the Discovery Channel and after the episode there was a promo for the next new show.....

It's based on the job of Alligator egg counters.... All it showed was Mike Rowe playing around a gator nest, then it showed him boarding an airboat (couldn't make out the hull) and he says to the operator "I'm riding with you in this thing? What's the worst thing that could happen, right?"

The next thing it showed was a loud BANG! and the hull on it's side sinking in a canal....the camera crew were all chest deep trying to get the gear to safety.

Ya'll might want to keep an eye out for when this show airs......

Of the very few shows I'll watch, Dirty Jobs is a favorite....oddly enough, I've worked some of them.

yep-- looks like it's tonight @ 9:00

9:00 pm

(60 minutes) Dirty Jobs
Alligator Egg Collector
TV-14 (L)

Mike Rowe gets dirty as he forages the swamps of Louisiana in search of Alligator eggs 90,000 of them to be exact. It's a very Dirty Job that's helping to preserve the population of the American alligator.

Great show, Mike is a funny host. Been seeing him in a lot of other shows and advertisements. His career in show biz seems to be doing well. He's got a good voice too..... I hear it on a LOT of shows as narrator. Deasliest Catch is one he does some voice-over work on.

I'm gonna record it to a DVD - then I have DVD duplication software if anyone wants a bootleg copy between friends. ;)

I still have copies of that FP&L funded documentary called "Expedition Kissimmee River". Send me a PM if you want a copy. About the kayakers who went from the Town of Kissimmee to Lake Okeechobee in 12 days of paddling on the river. Lots of good history of the river - and scenery - and a few airboats.

matt.

He didnt do to bad driving that boat though. I like that Palm Beach Hull. Stossel hull, said it on the rudder

It was a great show! Didn't know about fire ants being in nests, do know they are bad little SOB's.

Amazing how many nests there were.
Did they indicate what they were feeding the 'gators?

god dernit I missed it. What made the boat go down?

nevermind I just set my DVR to grab the rebroadcast at 1 AM

First "X" rated version of Dirty Jobs I've ever seen! The crotch thing...
The whole camera crew went over to the same side of the boat that two guys were already on. Over $100K lost in equipment he said.

Good episode for sure! On the rudders was a Florida airboat company.
