never would take my Dog's in the boat because I worried about damaging there ears ,got PFD for them though going to have to get some of these, great Idea

Hey those are cool. I dont think my dog needs them because I have determined he is deaf already because he never comes when he is called now. LOL come to think of it neither does my kid or girlfriend, hmmm I think I see a pattern here.

seriously though I bet your dog would be better for wearing them considering the dogs ears are supposed to be more sensitive than human ears.

Thats a decent product and might save the dogz ears. They say we should wear them so it makes sense the dog would too.

On another thought. They show a dog in the front seat of an airplane. Thats an insane idea ! No pilot in their right mind flies with animals in the plane unless they are caged and/or sedated.

Good product, really poor advertising. I'd buy a set for my mutt.

Whitebear maybe the dog has its seatbelt on so it cant get down in the rudder pedals LOL if it has muffs on it seems a seatbelt would be there also.

Of course maybe the dog is a rated pilot too LOL ! Couldn't do any worse than some I've seen flying.

Some of the planes I worked on I thought were flown by dogs anyways cause no pilot woulda done that stuff to a perfectly good airplane LOL

whitebear,
I guess you do not live in alaska (Smile) Thats the norm up here. Everybody I know that flies has thier dog with them either in the front seat or in the back. After all a plane up here is a redneck pickup truck down there.

Alaska

Actually I lived up there a while and fell in love with the place. Just too hard for a technical person to make a living up there.

Yup, Ive seen the dogs come poaring out of 185s at Mercherson Field hahahahahahah They may do it and they may do it long term but its still not a good idea. The PIC has the say so , so it his choice.

Im sure conversely, that I do other things that would terrify most sane people. Maybe its just perspective.

My brother just got a pair last week. They look pretty cool, the dog doesn't mind them too much. The straps that came with them were kind of cheesy, only velcro I think. They said they're working on a new strap with a buckel and will send it to him when they're done.

just thought I'd bump this one back to the top. Rick - this would be a good link to add to AirboatDirectory.com - maybe in the safety section? Just a suggestion.

Now that these are out on the market, they are constantly being refined and getting better. These things are a must (in my opinion) for any dog riding on an airboat. I know I want my dog to have good hearing for his whole life. Even if they some may think they look goofy.... Not as goofy as a burglar creeping past my sleeping dog, or the dog not coming when I call him because he can't hear my calls.

Be sure to read the directions - they are adjustable on the top AND the bottom.

Here's to dogs on airboats!!! :)

only way I'll buy em( and a lot of my friends will want them) is if SA is sponsored or something like that?
Sounds fair don't ya think? My money is where my mouth is........

My dog wears a pair every time she rides with me--She is used to them and they seem to work fairly well. The only time I have problems, is if she is wet and starts to shake--after awhile she will shake them down around her neck. I just thought as much as I hunt (she is always with me) that I would try to save her from losing her hearing prematurely. I believe it was worth the investment.
