hey buddy, ive been hog huntin for a looong time and i have and have had some pretty good dogs and ive been through a pile, good and bad.... the best i can tell u is that running a dog with other finished dogs one time aint goin to show the dog ur training enough to learn a whole lot.... a lot of times when u run a dog with finished dogs, it may do good but at the same time, its a lot of monkey-see, monkey-do... they kinda follow the other dogs around and do what they are doin and might not kno why or what they're doin after just one hunt.... if u wana make something out of that Cat then u need to keep taking him with and without other dogs as many times as it takes and catch hogs with him even if he doesnt do much, as long as he is there and sees wat its all about.... people, including my self, train dogs by starting in bay-pens and moving to open pastures and hobbling the hogs legs and letting it run and all that but nothing in this world will make a hog dog better than actually just going huntin and letting them figure it all out.... and ive never dealt a whole lot with Cats, i just run florida currs but im sure u'll find the same results deoending on the blood the dog came from... dont give up too easy, a lot of times a dog wont turn on and be a jam up dog till a year and a half to 2 years anyways after all the puppy is outta them.... and also remember, it is a necessity to punish a dog for doin bad but it is almost as important, if not more to reward ur dog and let it kno ur pleased with what its doin when ur training itand after catchin a hog with him and whatever else, all the currs i ever trained respond well to that.....well buddy i hope u can find this info helpful and anything else u might wana kno just write me back.... take it easy, catch 'em up...
