Dog leg steering

Just wondering how everyone had their steering setup thinking of doing dog leg steering would like to see how everyone has theirs done this would be for a open hull the Jimmy white in my other thread

I got plenty of dog leg steering pictures on my last build thread. You want to include stops on the triangular pivot to keep the linkage from going over center. I like the simplicity of being able to fix anything with a welder vs. waiting for UPS to deliver a new teleflex.

I am the same way I like to be able to fix something my dad had dog leg steering on every boat he ever had he used old bicycle pedals and mounted them to the transom of the boat those were the days miss my dad greatly

Dog leg steering is most sensitive and controllable, the geometry is critical, I build mine 2:1, crow foot off left rudder "master" half distance from rudder pivot to link point as the tiller stick pivot to link point, set tiller and rudder at neutral, build drag link, tie rods to "slave" rudder.
Now, what you describe about bicycle pedals, and mentioned and illustrated by slidin is belcrank design, same theory, 2:1 ratio, just much more involved to get it right and comfortable.
