Done Ducking for this season

Headed out yesterday for my last duck hunt of the season. John C invited me out on his new little airboat, as mine is still 10-7. The birds were flying great, 2 limits downed - a couple lost. Season took a turn midway with airboat breaking down. But, overall it was a great year. I especially enjoyed the hunts with my daughter Lydia, Stumpknocker (newly signed on here, don't think he has posted yet) and Emily, and with Bamawaterfowler (from UW-F website), and of course John C. One regret is I didn't get out with either of my boys this year for various reasons which I hope to work on before next season. Also, thanks again for Capt. Jeff and his open seat invitations. I had hope to hunt with others this year, but again that didn't work out so well. Such as JBHR, Beerman, Headfirst, Fireman 8, ALW, Duckmanjr, the 8th Street gang, and a host of others (UW - F that may lurk here). Also, didn't get out much with Priority 1 this year. We'll definitely have to work on that. Maybe chase the elusive gobbler with him this spring. Lord willing next season we'll connect or maybe hit the water for a fishing trip or two.

Heading out this weekend to see if my daughter Lyd can connect with a hog.

BTW - I got in trouble for the above picture, she wasn't supposed to be wading (according to my wife). This past Monday we went to Bass Pro and she bought her own waders, so look out next year.

looks like fun! i'm going on my last hunt this weekend...i hope i have as much luck as you did. with this low water year my duck hunting strategy has changed quite a bit. been getting a fair amount of ducks, but not consistent. i was able to get a buddy his first few ducks last weekend...he was thrilled. do you mind me asking where those pictures were taken...that huge hydrilla field looks great. good huntin'

Yeah, I know about the youth hunt. But my daughter (only one still of age to hunt it) is at the Corbett Area with high school class through Saturday and I'm on duty Sunday.

John, It was nice to be able to get out on a few duck hunts together this season. Glad to see Lydia now has the bug. Looks like you will have a great hunting partner for years to come.

I went out this afternoon for my last hunt of the season. The wind was blowing pretty good, but is was a good shoot.
