E85 in aircraft engines

Ethanol is hydrophilic, it attracts water, not the best thing for aircraft cylinder bores or carbs. Now if you ran your boat every single day, I suppose it may work. Not to mention alcohol washes away oil and is lacking upper cylinder lubricant.

There is an acrobatic team that uses E85 exclusively. And a few years back, Texas Skyways in Beorne Tx developed several stc’s for running E85 in aircraft. Basically fill it up and go. There were no changes made to the fuel system.
