The information that fits that profile has already been posted here and can be easily
accessed by using the [Search] function found up near the top right corner of your screen.

Not a lot of those boats out there yet, but the ones that have them have kept no secrets. :|

As a much wiser man than me said . . . Seek and ye shall find.

Thanks deano. Well put. The one Stat I will post again is 8 miles to the gallon on any day of normal riding witch includes a fair amount of running dry.

I kinda liked the    which gave me my first chuckle of the morning. :thumbleft:

There really has been a lot of good, solid information posted by a handful of you guys here.
I look forward to to the time when I can contribute drama free to that information base. :D

Didn't intend to stir anyone's pot just trying to find info on top end speeds to compare to my ongoing build and I've followed most of these Ecotec builds and couldn't find any info on this. I thought this was supposed to be an informative site but everytime someone brings up the word ECOTEC you get beheaded before the post has a chance to reach the people who would like to know!

While speed is more a result of hull and setup, I have seen plenty of top end, even when on the completely stock engine.

Here is a link to a post I did quite a while ago. This is when we still used the 2.37 rotator.

http://www.southernairboat.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=52020

The boat is laughably quieter now. Nearly all the noise was a box resonance with the 4 cylinder and hollow wide blade combo.

Rotator boxes work fine, just too noise for my boat. We run an Ox now obviously.

In my humble opinion.......I feel that most of us that have built a ecotec boat are not so much concerned with top speed as we are with a economical boat that also can burn up the dry all day long. Top speed will also vary with hull, and prop combo. If I were to put my motor on a step hull with slick bottom and a 6 blade sabre it would probably do 80 plus mph. ( honestly probably faster but being conservative so as to not get my head chopped off here  ). As for price....again depends what u want. My motor cost me 2500.00 brand new with computer wiring harness and all. Now it does take about another 4 grand to rewire and customize your intercooler, exhaust, harness, etc, but now that all that is done.....if I were to blow the motor up completely I can replace it with a brand new zero hour motor for 2200.00 plus labor for the swap. Try doing that on ANY other motor for airboating.

This is what I have purchased so far
2013? 2.4l ecotec 12000 miles on engine
72 inch 2 blade water walker sig used on small ding on leading edge
2-1 century belt drive new
13ft4 old rivermaster 7ft 6 wide with 5/16 poly in decent shape approx. 350lbs

Was trying to compare with other ecotec builders to see what kind of performance and top end I could expect with this set-up
thanks for posting

1.4L ecotec all stock with tune 150HP @ 5000. On a 12x7 american airboat hull. 68" super snapper. i know i wont hold it to the floor long as the boat keeps climbing and gaining speed but ill see what i can do when the weather warms up again.

Cruise around at 3500rpm all morning and burn maybe 2gph fuel.
