Electamotive Ignition

Have electramotive ignition on 0540. company that installed it recommended not to run vaccum advanced part of system rather use as staight up fixed timing 25 degrees or so .Was wondering if any one using the vaccum advance feature off sump allowing it to run at 8 degrees until it pulls enough vaccum. Argument that less to go wrong..Any thougts

I always thought the one big advantage to the electronic ignitions was the timing advanced as the engine needed it.....if they tell ya not to use it and have a fixed timing at 25 degrees wouldn't ya just have an expensive glorified magneto ignition ?
