Elusive and long rumored Kissimmee River Valley Swamp Angola

At long last....the often rumored existence (some said they were simply ghosts) of a strain of rare wild sheep on the Kissimmee Marsh has been confirmed. Yep....hard evidence of them wonderous critters is in the bank.....so to speak.

Monday morning in a remote, but public, portion of the vast Kissimmee River Valley wildeness system, an airboat and them critters came bow to nose.....at great risk to health and welfare to the unarmed Captain, they were captured unharmed. Neither animal had any brand, mark or tracking collar.

The Kissimmee River Valley Swamp Angola's home range appears to be an area currently under serious consideration for a Stormwater Treatment Area by SFWMD. In consideration of that fact, the bull sheep and his ewe were relocated to a safe haven.

There are five independent and objective witnesses to this surprising set oof events. The whole story will be told at the Lions Club Camp on Saturday night, December 02.

there real seen em with my on eyes look like mountian goats big rams been told they are considered ferrel game

I hope they prosper. Ferrel means they will have no protection so it's gonna be a long hard road.

Maybe airboaters need to kind of adopt them. Our own little conservation cause, and if we played our cards right there could
be Federal funds for it.
If the sheep survive, maybe they'll take us along with them. Just a thought.

wher i seen them was at bluff hammock there turning it to a retention lake but have seen them in the bombing range for years they have there on game management

I'm serious folks ..... we as a community could take them on as a preservation/conservation project. The little guys could help us more than you realize, and it sounds like they could use a hand up too.

Sometimes the best way to fight fire is with fire. The anti's would have to search their souls to go after a group that was actively trying to save a species.

Ferrel....I think that's what the land managers at SFWMD call US!!!

No pedigree, liable to turn up anywhere, destructive to their long term plans.....WE sound pretty ferrel to ME.

The recently captured pair of Kissimmee River Valley Swamp Angola are currently in protective custody....kinda. They are sheeping around under the watchful eyes of "Big Tool" and Puff the Magic Dragon. Their home range has been documented for future use.

Seeing as how SFWMD takes it upon themselves to rewrite federal laws pertaining to motor vessel access and sovereign submerged lands and seeing as how they hold themselves above state law and existing legal case law precident and seeing as how they are sometimes prone to putting "No Airboat" signs in chest deep sovereign navigable waters and seeing as how they are on record as saying the recently passed "No Airboat Discrimination" law does not apply to THEM......

Then is it reasonable to suspect a breeding pair of rare sheep MIGHT just "disappear" from a "possible" sight for a STA in the Kissimmee River Valley? HMMMMMMMM?????

I hear ya BD. "Above the law" .... man, that makes me angry every time I see or hear it.

Where is it written that a State agency, funded and supported in whole part by the good tax paying citizens of our State, is not subject to the same rules and regulations as are any one of us who pay them ?

It wouldn't do for me to be 'King for a day'. I'd tell a bunch of them to clean out their desks.
