EMERGENCY RESPONSE LIST

cntry141iq

Silent Prop
R. I. P.
Rick and I have talked about this before and agreed it was a good idea. However placing too much personal information out in public can be harmful and with that being said .. I am going to post my nextel beep beep on here and if you wish to add it to yours feel free and if you want me to have your beep beep then beep me.

My nextel doesn't always work at my house so I have another cell phone number. I will give that one out but not on the forum in public. Rick has it and he can give it to whomever he feels will be responsible with it or contact me and I will give it to you.

Please don't post anything on here you wouldn't want everyone to have because they will. I don't want another thread going south when it is started with good intentions. Please keep in mind that you may get beeped at in-opportune times and these responses may not be normal type rides. you always have the option of saying no when called whether it be because of the timing or the conditions or the location and if your not comfortable please don't go. 99.9% of the time the response will be fun for all but the object of the response but that other time can be a killer.

There will be no charge for my boat or me as this is not a money making idea. Donations of gas are always acceptable but never expectedand probably wont be accepted. The object of a response will already have enough problems and stress without wondering how to pay for 50 airboats worth of gas.

I have never even been able to buy as much as a meal for anyone who has ever helped me. I have been given parts, tows, rides and numerous hand pulls and usually had to shout thank you as they were driving off. Most recently was the run for the ksrva bbq in the marsh ... I didnt know it but I had been picked as the leader for a small flotilla of boats and my throttle cable broke. I was short of parts for that one and someone came up with a cable sleeve and I had so many people trying to work on my boat I couldn't hardly get to it myself. I don't even know who had the parts so I could give them back but I sure have plenty of them extra on my boat now. LOL

So lets keep this light and have some fun with it but remember don't get in over your head no one expects you too and no one had better look down on anyone who isn't comfortable with a situation not participating in that one. Hopefully I wont be the first one to need this service but you never know what is going to happen or when it will happen and ther is no SEATOW for where we run.

But that is a company phone.... and if I leave this company the phone stays. I have another (pre-pay) nextel... but I don't turn it on because of the price. Can't remember the number for it.... but when a change happens, I'll update.

Cool deal ! Another great Idea ! I am in when my boat floats !And I dont think we will have to wait for permission to go in either! Responce should be faster !We can take this to the next level! You are rite 141 if any of yall dont have enought seat time to feel comforable about this, do not need to apply! No sense getting more people in the same deal as one in trouble !Things always go wrong at the wrong time!So please know what you are doing !Simple things not always so simple! :D

141,

C'mon now...No sea-tow? You told me I could use any brahma bull that the Ms could lasso!

"Hitler" took my nextel last year but you have "our" cell number. Would be glad to help where, when if possible.

Hopefully you won't need to be a nextel user to participate or activate. I understand not wanting you information on a public forum. I'm not sure how we can obtain the information and yet have it available for those in need without it being open on the forum. I see this as list of emergency contacts that would most likely be kept on my boat in a dry box. Possibly we could have a few people who could act as "dispatchers" - they could be notified of the situation and location and attempt to contact members from that region. I would be willing to be a "dispatcher". Just my .02

I'm a member of the TDR. (Cummins Owners) They have a booklet with info on members willing to help other members. At a glance I can find someone in a particular area and know their ability and willingness to help whether it's a cup of coffee or a full blown shop with parts, welder, etc. It tells how far you are willing to travel, if you have rv hook ups etc. I've helped several members. So far its all been a pleasure. Perhaps this may work for us---a booklet---so the info isn't in view of everyone.

Aww folks ya'll make my knees weak, finally I get a thread goin like it is supposed to go.

1) No neeed to be nextel no need for cell phone just willingness

2) the little book with expanded info is a great idea

3) this may actually work

4) this is not intended to take the place of the true certified trained emergency response team for natural disasters and biggie projects this is for minor emergencies if there is such a thing. Members will be welcome on both but the true certified team will require considerable investment of time and equipment and maybe money for training which I am thinking can possibly come from donations ... more on that team later I promise

Harvey,

I like your idea of the book. To have such resources would guarantee to be a life saver for someone / someday. The level of willingness to help would also be a good part of the list.

I'm working on a mapping system on our web-site that will zero you in on any address, it will be in 3D We could put nextel #'s for any location.
I am doing this mostly for advertiser's addresses and events but, I think it could work for this as well. It will cover the entire US.

Great idea guys, this could be a lifesaver.
You can put me on the list for S.Florida (Everglades Areas 2a, 3a, Fran Taylor, maybe even Lake Okechobee)
159*5050*30
let me know where to send my cell #.
When you are in the Everglades and need help you can call 911 and request the Broward County Fire/Rescue Crew stationed at the rest area (mile marker 35) on Alligator Alley. They can help with rescue of people, but they will not help getting your boat out/up.

Add me in, too. Live in Tampa, have trailer - will tow. I have airboater Nextel contacts all over the state. 158*31*37658 813-927-3474. I'll help any time I can. CCAA has a very effective "Call Out" list for this very purpose. Yella Feller, where are you??

Here is something else to consider. Nextel has a GPS deal worked with Tremble Outdoors and is offering an introductory package right now. I have added Tremble Outdoors to my subscription for $10.00 per month. This makes your phone a mapping GPS and you can tell folks exactly where you are as long as your phone works. It will also draw a map to any other set of LL coordinates. Makes finding a boat or buddy in the bushes a whole lot easier. We can likely work a group deal for airboaters if there is any interest.

I am out of Cocoa but run from SR 60 in Vero to SR 46. Will always try to help when I can.

Orlando/Central FL

Covers:
Clermont
St. Johns River from Deland in the north to hwy 528 in the south.
Narcoosee
With some time: Kissimmee & Melbourne

Nextel:
158*21507*14 or

Thsi isn't going to be printed is it? I'd suppose if it was, it'd be out of date pretty quick. Any ideas about how to congeal the info? Maybe just make my own list from here.

I will always do anything I can to help.
I live in Ft. Laud. but I keep my boat in Palm Bay.

I'd like to be in on this for East Central Florida. Here's my Nextel: 158*23*36935
cell number is: 407-709-4656

Sorry for the late post, but I've trying to come up with a good way of posting this list. So far, the best I can come up with is to use a private usergroup using this forum. You would have to send an email requesting that your name & number be added before having access to it yourself.

What do ya'll think?
