Exhaust

has any one seen the super quiet exhaust system that stumpjumber airboats has. It looks like the exhaust crosses under the engine with resonator mufflers then goes thru the transom with turbo mufflers. what would this do to the performance of the engine and would it make it any quieter?

Just curious.

Hey, yep only seen one and it was at stumpjumpers shop. Both of the resonators and mufflers have straight flow thru characteristics and are substantially quieter. Some parts of Florida areas are now implementing noise restrictions. Local authorities can ticket you if there are no mufflers on your boat. But, there really is no way to quiet your prop wash except changing your prop to a Sensenich "Q" series. As far as horse power loss, from what I'm told , the differecne is minimal.
