Extra Seats Needed for Survivors and Victims Families

Daddy Dave

Well-known member
There has been a significant number of requests to John C for seats to participate in the Dec. 29 ride and remembrance ceremony at the crash site for survivors, victims family members and from Bud's family. There is no dry spot out at the crash site to put folks out on, so you'll have the extra riders for the duration.

This will be an effort "in flux" as John C won't know for certain until folks show up on Dec. 29, but it sure looks like there will be a very strong need for this.

Since this subject is part of the primary thread, we need moderator help to separate this into its own thread.

Please make certain John C gets names, contact info and number of available seats. Thanks folks.

I spoke with two of the survivors after the ceremony David Kaplan and Ron Infantino. They expressed there interest in going to the crash site on the 29th. There are many other survivors and family who wish to visit the site, it will help with some closure.

I am going to coordinate with Dave and Ron and they will network with the other survivors and family.

If you are going to attend the ride on the 29th and you have a couple of empty seats on your airboat and are willing to provide transportation to and from the crash site for survivors and or family please contact me via PM.

I do not yet have a number of seats that are needed so I can not make any promises who will take who. Please contact me if you can make the comitment.

Thank You
John C.

ALSO...seems like several of the victims and their family members want to take part in our ride. Can we Get-R-Done?

Always remember...the boat operator is fully responsible for his or her passengers.

by the looks at it i will have 4 seats available.that is if painterchic is still ridding with bigkavr i don't think my buddy is coming but i will not be definite until he gives me an answer but i will be happy to shuttle some of them.

How much of a boat do you need to get to the site? I might be able to donate one seat space but my boat isn't a trailblazer or a dry ground runner so don't want to go out there and be more of a hinderance then a help.

I'd be honored to give a ride to a survivor or family of a victim. If we can make it to the event (still working on Laura's hospital work schedule).
Our new boat (barge) will seat 5 and has a friggin dancefloor in front of that. LOL But we need water with that load.

Gonna need water for a tour boat if we can round up any.

What are the conditions?

The GPS coords of the crash site are:
25°51′53″N, 80°35′43″W

The survivor's site mentions that ambulances rode the levy to within 100 yards of the crash site.
Is there something there we can use?

Here is a map I made using those coords...
Click the little map to see a bigger version of it

Let me know if I need to make any corrections to this map.
:)

I spoke with several of the survivors at the Dec.3 ceremony. One was Mercy Ruiz, she was one of the flight attendants. Mercy went back to the crash site for the Miami Herald article. She told me that they drove out on the levi to the crash site. you can check out the film footage if you google Miami Herald and search flight 401 crash. Anyway she said that she would really like to go back to the crash site by Airboat. I'm pretty sure they are all looking forward to traveling to the site by Airboat. Hopefully by tomorrow I will have an idea of how many seats that will be needed.

I have a detachable front triple seat for my boat, but to run it loaded safely I'll need some water. Y'all let me know.

I'll have a minimum of 1 extra seat available. And if Painterchic acts up Friday night, I may just have 2 seats available for Saturday..... :D

Bigkaver I thought she was going to be on ski's in the back holding on to a rope
I'm supposed to have Kristal and her daughter and the two guy's doing the documentary on my boat but if a seat opens up I will let you know but right now I believe I'm full

Damn Wingman!!

I seem to remember the last day in New Orleans you had a gorgeous reporter on your airboat all day... You always get the media types... :D :D :D
Be sure to tell them we don't want any pictures of what we do to Painterchic. We don't want any evidence now do we?

Hey Y'all,
Just wanted to let you know...
Grant went to the Eastern Flight 401 Memorial Site, and posted the announcement for this ride.

I also posted a link to this forum, so that any of flight 401 group who would like to attend, might post there request here, and get hooked up.

Later

Guess I posted in the wrong place. I`ll have 2 seats for anyone who needs `em. But I will need a lifejacket for them.....

well my buddy called he is not going so i will have 4 seats available, water makes the ride smooth, but is not neccesary.

Good Grief Man... are you trying to kill me or what?!?!?! I have to go more than a couple of hours without acting up??? I think I need a definition of good behavior.... SPECIFIC'S PLEASE..... cuz you know I can (and WILL) find a loop hole somewhere if need be    And although the whole "swamp skiing" still doesn't reallllllly appeal to my "wild" side, who knows... I might get adventurous once I'm down there.... nahhh... never mind... thats a BAD idea.... "the boys" would be having WAAAAAYYYYY too much fun at my expense... (they probably will anyway...without there being a choice on my part...lol)
