FYI:

This is in addition to an earlier post.

This is in addition to an earlier post.

Put this together to have a record of where we were (2005) to where we are now (Oct 2006).

Under "Future Ideas," these are areas that were listed as goals and priorities for 2006 (as outlined at the July 2005 meeting) but just never made it to the forefront because of obligations & other issues.

Hopefully, the new leadership has a list of goals and the folks needed to achieve them identified (and recruited) and will work towards accomplishing them.

I'm of the opinion that after the Oct 14 meeting, there was a net loss of talent at the FAA with little inclination for fresh talent & ideas to step forward. New blood will need to step up to the plate. Time will tell.

As has been stated MANY times before on here, the FAA is an all volunteer organization. Effective ? Yes, absolutely. Needed ? Of course. Will they pay you for participation ? No, they can't.

New blood and new ideas are always needed, but most folks are unwilling to take the time and/or spend their own money to attend meetings and participate in the future of airboating.

If any one of you would like to volunteer time and energy to ensure the future of airboating, President Bob Hoover (Swampjet) would love to hear from you. He'll find plenty of work for you. It's not a closed organization and never has been. It's just a bunch of unpaid folks who care enough to step up to the plate and try.

Like the sign on the motel says .... "Vacancy".
