This was the reply that I got from the FWC after the "SALT WATER HUNTERS " thread written by Capt. Jeff
Thank you for your e-mail dated January 22, 2006, regarding an editorial which was posted on a Southern Airboat Forum Web site.
Your e-mail to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) alleges that FWC Lieutenant Steve Wayne acted in an unprofessional manner by asking a member of the Association, Jeff Kraynick, to write a post on the Web site containing inappropriate and unprofessional comments. After reviewing the post and discussing the matter with Lieutenant Wayne, it is our conclusion that this did not occur. Lieutenant Wayne did have a discussion with Mr. Kraynick about possible illegal hunting activity, and the fact that his officers had initiated an educational campaign notifying both the hunters and the complaining homeowners about the legal and ethical issues surrounding the hunting and discharge of firearms around homes. He did not instigate the comments on the Web site.
Mr. Kraynick took the information provided by Lieutenant Wayne, wrote his post on the Web site, and inserted his own personal opinions and comments in the post. None of those reflect the opinion of Lieutenant Wayne or that of the FWC.
If you have any other concerns or questions regarding this situation, please contact Captain Jeff Hubert at (321) 383-2740.
Sincerely,
Captain John Miller
