Really I don't know, but would imagine they vary from place to place. There's one near here that you're not allowed to access from the road/Park side, but if you're on the river side you can hunt & fish. :?
 
just by doing a quick google search on wildlife refuges. All the rules are different. I didn't see the mention of airboats in any of them but I am willing to bet for noise issues probably most of them don't allow it but thats just a guess.
 
went to merrtit island refuge got a ticket and ran out told not to return or will go to jail airboats are not allowed in most due to wildlife sanctuarys???those federal boys sure got mad they chased me in a helicopter and had automatic weapons
 
Merrit island refuge is very protected due to the Space Shuttle. They have alot of signs. If you can't read, they will make sure you understand that you are not welcome!

hey i think those feds were just excited to have some action, and a excuse to show off their toys !!
im sure they know GD well it would be more likely a middle easterner( politically correct) would be able to get weapons on a plane and take control of it than to take control of one of OUR airboats !
