I really wanted to take Friday off from work cept I was scheduled to train 2 of our employees to operate an airboat. All went well in the training ,got wet from a few 180's ,just another day at work cept it was cold. We did See a few nile perch at the glen and 1 fat manatee . I clocked out at work and headed for the tag office to get the registration straight on the new hull. The nice ladies at the tag office had a problem ,they had never done a hull warranty were somebody had registered a new hull with out paying for it or trading.
Cheryl had taken the day off to get things ready and I was real glad she did. I got home' loaded the camper ,hooked the boat up ,checked the tires, water and oil and we were off.Got to Geneva and Cheryl asked me If we had put the cooler on the boat.No bear,No food .Good thing we hadn't passed the last store.Back in the old days I might have been a little perturbed over an incident like this but now long as I had my mik ultra I was all right.
By the time we got to Loughmans It was cold ,we were tired and hungry.WE were goin to eat there at the restaurant cept JrLyles and his wife Malisa offerd up some dity rice and I nevery pass up an offer of food.
Met our Neighbors Seminole Wind,Buckhot from Carolina and talk about a spread,His concoction of shrimps taters and suasage was just right. Now the fire was givin the folks a little problem good thing there was plenty of AC operators with plenty of oil to keep the fire going .Not realy However the wood was a litle wet.
Next mornin, with a little coffee in me, I was debating wether to ramp the boat or drop it on the ground .The last hull ran the hill like a slug ,I couldn't decide to take the chance of being stuck right off the bat or not till skeeter showed changing my mind.skeeter dropped his .I dropped mine along side.
I let her sit there( yea it's a she now instead of an it) for a while till I got the courage to test her guts out.other boaters started showing up and there looked to be enough help close by in case I needed a litlte help.
I eased up to her and mounted the seat, patted the gas a couple of times and fired her up.While sitin there warm upI was think in that maybe i should have droped her off a little sooner then I did, she was sittin a bit up hill and maybe it would be hard to break loose an proceed up the hill .I thought well if it dosen't go maybe I can spin it around an go done with out blowin every body to bad.And thats whate I had to do spin it around .Now where it was parked there was clump grass ,mud and other vegatation for maybe fifty yards to the water and not knowing how willin my good friends would be to get muddy and wet so early I didn't let off till I hit the water .Me I was quite impressed .I had several opportunity's during saturdays ride to see how far she would go.I reckon this hull is like my wife a keeper.

stan i loved when you took her out to race, the wife and the dog.i bet if you had a frog gig you would have been stickin green while you were running.
