Dear Friends,
The Confederate Heritage License Plate effort needs your immediate action. As we have not found a bill sponsor, the language for our tag needs to be amended onto an existing bill, in order for it to get voted upon this year.
The SCV needs each of you to write the Senator Nancy Argenziano - argenziano.nancy.web@flsenate.gov and Senator Daniel Webster - drawdy.ann.s09@flsenate.gov and request them to amend our bill onto SB 1900. If you will also contact, either by email or phone, your own legislator(s), it would also help the cause.
Time is of the essence. The Legislature adjourns at the END OF APRIL!.
Here's what you need to include in your email, letter, or phone call:
1. Be polite, these are NOT enemies, just folks who need a nudge to do the right thing.
2. Ask them to please amend to SB 1900, the Confederate Heritage Specialty Plate language, which is currently in House Bill Drafting, and can be released by Rep. Dennis Baxley's Office.
3. Tell them that the Confederate Heritage License Plate has met all DOT requirements, including proving that it has the support of over 30,000 potential buyers.
4. Let them know how much this plate means to you and your family, how much it means to the SCV's educational and historical programs, what it means to Florida's students, and how you want to honor your ancestors by purchasing it.
5. Include your name and address, and let them know you are a registered voter.
Please call and send emails to these two Senators (who control SB 1900) SB 1900 is all the other Specialty Plates rolled into one, and is the "Conference Bill" that the House and Senate will jointly vote on.
Compatriots, this is where the rubber meets the road. We need to literally bombard Legislators with emails, calls and letters if we ever hope to see our License Plate become a reality. Please pass this email on to anyone of your friends that you think can help us. The more pressure we apply to the Legislature, the better chance we have that someone (besides Rep. Baxley - an SCV member) will show some courage and help us get this bill passed.
Don't wait until tomorrow, PLEASE get after this as soon as possible! JAM THE SWITCHBOARDS - FULL SPEED AHEAD!

Senator Agenziano, Senator Webster,
Please amend to SB 1900, the Confederate Heritage Specialty Plate language, which is currently in House Bill Drafting, and can be released by Rep. Dennis Baxley's Office.
If passed, this tag will help support, honor and educate the history and memory of Florida's Confederate soldier, who, according to an act of the US Congress, has been granted the same respect, benefits and honors as any other American veteran and who's memory should be accorded their due respect.
As leaders within Florida's Senate and long time champions of conservative, family and sportsman's values, I ask you to take a stand with honorable conservative cultural values, follow the lead of nine other Southern states and allow the decedents of these American veterans their rightful access to this specialty license plate.
Respectfully,
Captain Phil Walters
