Flex hose vs. solid tubing

I have been told the flex pipe makes a lot of resistance to the flow so I am making a solid pipe setup this time but using mandrel bends to help the flow

Have had 'em both. Was / am convinced that flex leaked sound. Not so sure ho much - wish FWCC would tell us in their ongoing testing.. have solid exhaust piping now on a strait valve 0-540. No header bolt breaks after a year of hard running. Looks better with flex - specially if it is ceramic coated. Mandrel bending would make solid piping as aestethiclly pleasing as flex - but mucho mas dinero. Effective mufflers will do the most for the $$.00. Have decided to run ceramic coated flex on the new coming Diamondback hull and rigging.

I've ran both and i could not tell the diffrence. the Mandrel bent pipe mostlikley cost less than the flex .I am running mandrel bent pipes now on my new boat just put mufflers on it and its a lot quieter seems to run the same. as it did with open headers
