Floating your boat

For those that has been involved in refloating an airboat using inner tubes, what sizes example truck or car size, and qty of tubes it took to refloat it. I’m thinking about putting an emergency kit together just in case for me and acquaintances
TIA.🤔👍🇺🇸

All depends on the hull design that will be raised, best person to ask is Old Glory as Gerald has rescued more sunk boats than anybody I know.

Assuming your boat weighs 1500 lbs. = 700kg. One liter of water =1 kg. From the internet, a 16 inch tractor tire has 3.4 cubic feet of air. A liter = .035 CF. So 700kg x.035/ 3.43=7.14 tubes. Add a safety factor of 20% and round up to even number, 9 inner tubes. Maybe Old Glory will weigh in and see if the math works in the real world.

I think most of the time Gerald just hooks up to the boat and drags it to shallow water or land where it can be bailed out.
