Florida Airboat Association quarterly meeting and trail ride

Daddy Dave

Well-known member
FAA regular scheduled quarterly business meeting is set for Saturday 08 January 2005. This meeting will be held at the Brevard Airboat Clubhouse on SR 192 just east of the St. Johns River near Melborne.

After the meeting, Brevard Airboat Club members are going to lead an airboat trail ride through the vast St. Johns River headwaters marsh system. All are welcome. Mufflers and PFD use are strongly encouraged as press will most likely attend and participate.

A group lunch will follow at the Oasis on the St. Johns. Overnight accommodations are available nearby at the I-95 / SR 192 intersection.

Organization, communication and responsible operation are the keys to future airboat use.

There are most likely great maps available from St. Johns Water Management District. I run a Lowrance M68c DGPS on my boat and it has an internal map that is fair to middling on detail, but, superb at tracking trails for "get back home" data.

I made a mistake in the announcement. There will be a second and much longer trail ride on Sunday. It will run north and end up at Lone Palm for lunch. Saturday afternoon's ride will likely end up at Camp Holly - which serves lunch in an aluminum can only. So Saturday will be a BYOVS affair.

I added it to the calendar. I'd also like to add a meeting time & contact email or phone number if you can provide one.
Thanks
