Free prop for someone that needs one

mongose

Well-known member
Have a 77 x 33 LXL prop, wood core platic covered with metal leading edges, great shape, rated for 2750 to 3000 RPM , used on my 6 cyl lycoming, 6 bolt pattern with bolts and plate. Will give to a person that can and will use it for free, not intended for it to be resold for profit, it is a free prop. Served me well. Gone to composite blade. Will post a pic in my galery.

That is a great gesture MONGOSE I applaud for it. I have given away quite a bit of stuff to people who could and would use it .. way to go man

wow looks good wish my current boat would take more then the 68. that is a great offer I also applaud your great jester

who makes that wood core with plastic coating ??????

My knowledge of airboats and equipment is next to none, I ride, sink and crash them, not in that order either. I got the prop from Boby Jones Sr. with my first boat, dont know who makes it but it is solid and in great shape.

I have an oil cooler off my IO 540, worked great just replaced because it was kinda ugly, also needs a good home if needed..

I may be able to use it if it would work on a Lycoming 0-360 . My old prop was 72" don't know what the pitch was. I believe the 77 inch would fit inside the cage just don't know if the 180 would have enough power to turn it. Does anyone think a O-360 can turn a 77 X 33 prop? Also, what would be the feasability if the prop is too big of having it reworked to a smaller diamater? Not sure if that would be cost effective.

I used to run a 78x32 paddle on a 500 cad and it was great. This prop should work the same. I think I have seen some sensenich props coated like that.

The prop is way to big for a 180. Its an angle valve 0540 Prop i belive, which is double the horsepower of an 180. 180 needs a 68lxl34, 70lxl32. Those sizes are wide-blade small hub props.

Awesome!
That really is a nice gesture Mongoose. Sure enough is!

Hey Country,
You know your my one and only hero!
Your the greatest.

Besides,
Mongoose don't seem like the type to me that needs any backslapp'in, or hugs.
I think he gave that prop away cause he just flat wanted to be nice to someone.

It was an extremely generous gesture none the less.
No doubt about it Mongoose!

Thank you for the kind words Country and Cowboy. The survival of our sport depends on more airboaters taking to the water and future generations of airboaters being introduced to the lifestyle. The reward comes when one sees families and friends enjoying airboating. Many here would do the same as is shown by the events and causes supported by airboating organizations, companies, clubs and individual airboaters.
