Frog question?

Since soo much of the lako O marsh is drying up, do frogs need water to survive?
I would assume they would go hunt water like any other animal would do, but the areas where there are water does not seem to have an abundant supply of frogs?
Where do they go..

Me being the novice gigger that I am though I have been under the gigmasters guidance for a while .I would guess in a gators or Big snakes belly. I also would think from my observations thatFRogs do migrate to water when there holes dry up .

I also have observed that were there's gators there should be frogs and the frogs don't like to come up when the moon is bright.Big thing is ya gotta have the right cover too .Darnit huntin frogs gets as complicated as gettin your caddi to run a belt drive.

Stan you forgot birds and raccoons I was at Hernando the last 5 days I saw a lot of big gray herons sand hills and raccoons even out wading for a frog delight saw a butch of small frog if they make to be adults it would surprise me. Took 1 1/2 hours to get a mess.

Seems like after two or three very dry years frogs get scarce
and then after two or three very wet years frogs are everywhere.
Bass fishin seems to run this same pattern. First real wet year
after several years of low water bass and frogs are tough to find
but it gets better after a few wet years.

they do burow ther self in the mud an go dormant and wait out dry spells cntry has told me hes done his best giggin in the winter but ive never had much luck this time of year i always felt ther wernt enough insects to support large populations of frogs

We are still in the daydreamin stage, but the end result will maybe be a giggin contest in one of the frog lakes around that produces an acceptable amount of frogs for some good competion and fellowship.I started my studies in frog technoligy in the winter time and yes I also have been most succesful during cold weather

SHOULD HAVE A FROGGIN COMPETITION LIKE THEY USED TO IN CORBET BACK IN THE DAY , SET UP A COURSE IN A BIG SLEW WITH STY-ER-FOAM BALLS AND TIME WHO CAN RUN THE COURSE THE FASTEST AND GIG THE MOST BALLS.

DB, That sounds like fun. There used to be quite a few gar gigging contests up here on the st. johns.

Basket, Stan and Cntry can be the Officials for it, and have the first plates of 'em after they're fried up :) .
