fuel consumption

I have a 14 fiberglass combee hull with a angle valve 0470 . Finally got the boat in the water and it seems to burn about 5 gallons per hour . I admit that I was running the boat pretty hard to test out the motor does this seem to be about right for fuel consumption? thanks for the help

If you were running the boat "hard", 5 gal / hr is not too bad. More information is needed - what prop? what is your top rpm? How heavily was your boat loaded, etc.

A 14' Combee is a pretty high sided boat = wind resistance - but, is a very safe lake and deep water choice. Combee made excellent hulls.

I never heard of any six cylinder that didn't burn at least 6 to 7 gallons per hour. Was that an hour on your watch or an hour on the tach? The tach will show an hour at the rated RPM. 5 gallons sounds like good consumption to me.
