Fuel economy

I have strongly considered gettin a GPU

with my buddy's thurman with the 0540 12 - 15 gallons of gas will get us from Lox road to his camp ( Townsends old camp now Kevin Mcdaniel and Geralds Motts ) and about 3 - 4 hours of froggin then we have to switch over to the reserve.

Next time you are out stop by and have a beer if we are there

The Shady Oaks Ride was 48.6 miles long that day BPS. I average 2.1 miles to the gallon. I put in 18 gallons at the pump and got 5 from Big Daddy. I found out that the gauge is wrong when I have a 1/4 tank, I really have a 1/2. I have a Garmin 276C that I track our trip on

Just curious, approximatley how many mpg would a 15X8, 350/330 get?

Thanks,
tom

I bet Nicole and I did over 55 or close to 60 that day. I am happy with my fuel economy. If I can't get there on 40 gal. I don't need to go. :p

I covered 66 miles on the GPS at Kissimmee and averaged right at 3 MPG running a 15 X 7.5 aluminum hull, reducted Cadillac. Most of the running was along shoreline and a little dry ground in the marsh.

Consumption varies quite a bit. Depends on weather (wind, humidity) and if I'm running shallow or deep water, dry, etc. With a 14' aluminum hull, stainless rigging, 454, 2:1 gear, three bladed prop consumption varies between 8 and 12 gallong per hour. I could probably do better on a long run in skinny water.

It was that WOT that suck the gas down on the dry run, but I'll be ready next time. Just droped of the airboat to get a gearbox and a 4 blade on.
