Future Operation Airboat???

I got another thank you letter from a soldier today. That makes three so far. I always write them back and this soldier's unit is stationed at Ft. Stewart, GA. He mentioned coming to Florida to enjoy the weather upon their return and I remembered a conversation we had in Melbourne.

In my reply, I mentioned that there may be an interest in hosting a ride where we actually take some of these servicemembers out on a ride. Seeing how they are only about 3 1/2 to 5 hours away from most of the riding places in central Florida, I figured it was workable.

Now, this is not final or a definite thing but I wanted to know if there was an interest in this. We are talking 6 months or more down the road.

Matt .... fishin' with grenades? Whew

Adam,
There are two new airboat clubs in N. Central Florida that may want to get in on this. one is North Florida Conservation and Airboat Alliance and the other is the United Sportsman & Airboat Alliance. I don't want to post their numbers here without their permission but if you look in the back of Airboat World Magazine under clubs you can get their contact info.
It would be a great way for these new clubs to get some positive coverage and let other airboaters in their area know about them. As well as helping the soilders.

Thanks Terri

It seems that the response will be strong for this. If I hear more from this unit I will let you know. I may even try and get with some of my contacts between now and then to see about setting up something sooner. I'll work the issue and let everyone know as soon as I come up with something. Again, we are talking several months away.

I envision something that can involve representatives from all the airboat clubs in Florida so start sending out feelers to your clubs and if you aren't a member of a club, join one.
