PUTNAM COUNTY
On Friday, November 17, Officer Mike Florence of the North St Johns River crew filed charges against a Putnam County man for an abandoned vessel and failure to change ownership on title. This was the result of an investigation of a 25-foot vessel that sunk and was left at the Shell Harbor Resort in Welaka.
On Saturday, November 18, Lieutenant Lee was working surveillance of a county dirt road for night hunting when a truck passed him. Lieutenant Lee was able to observe the truck for over an hour, watching it stop six times for up to fifteen minutes each time, before moving on down the road. Lieutenant Lee thought the driver was stopping to see if a deer would step out into his headlights. The vehicle was eventually stopped, after it turned around in the road and started back towards him. A search of the vehicle produced a packet of cocaine that was laying on the front seat and a homemade pleasuring device that was emitting a buzzing sound. Apparently, this is what the operator was doing while he was stopped in the road. Lieutenant Lee arrested the

driver for possession of cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia and then transported him to the Putnam County Jail.
