after reading other posts in the forum seems there are quite a few folks here with the same thoughts on what to do about it.with 2000+ members whom all have vehicles and alot of us have atleast one boat or other form of gas powered toy it is JMO that we need to flex alittle southernairboat muscle and come up with THE day(s) not to buy gas.
So PICK THE DAY :D :D :D :D :D

I posted something yesterday on a way to try to affect the gas mogels but somehow it made it's way to the back of the web site. Must not be to important.

I guess there's a lot of millionaires around here that can afford these high gas prices, what does it take to forward Gator Chasers post maybe it will catch on I'm in Jerry
Done

Who you going to complain to? The very people that have the power to accomplish something are the ones that profit most by it and believe me they don't give a damn about us. Greed is ugly...

Hey with alternate fuels maybe someone will develop an engine that runs on human waste and we can all run around with a white porcelain on top of the tank. Gosh wouldn't that be cute! :D AND it would definitely bring more meaning in the term "Water Thunder" LMAO

I hear ya Gatorchaser, I posted the same thing in "On the Hill" last Monday. Very little interest I guess. Maybe nobody goes ON the Hill.

With OPEC refusing again to raise production (yesterday) and the major oil companies continuing to make obscene profits, it may be time for consumers to try to help themselves. So, read the following and decide for yourself if it's feasible.

This was sent by a retired Coca Cola executive. It came from one of his engineer buddies who retired from Halliburton. If you are tired of the gas prices going up AND they will continue to rise this summer, take time to read this please.

Phillip Hollsworth offered this good idea. This makes MUCH MORE SENSE than the "don't buy gas on a certain day" campaign that was going around last April or May! It's worth your consideration. Join the resistance!!!!

I hear we are going to hit close to $ 4.00 a gallon by next summer, and it might go higher!! Want gasoline prices to come down?

We need to take some intelligent, united action. The oil companies just laughed at that because they knew we wouldn't continue to "hurt" ourselves by refusing to buy gas.

It was more of an inconvenience to us than it was a problem for them. BUT, whoever thought of this idea has come up with a plan that can really work. Please read on and join with us!

By now you're probably thinking gasoline priced at about $2.00 is super cheap. Me too! It is currently $3.19 for regular unleaded in my town.

Now that the oil companies and the OPEC nations have conditioned us to think that the cost of a gallon of gas is CHEAP at $1.50 - $1.75, we need to take aggressive action to teach them that BUYERS control the marketplace..not sellers.

With the price of gasoline going up more each day, we consumers need to take action.

The only way we are going to see the price of gas come down is if we hit someone in the pocketbook by not purchasing their gas! And, we can do that WITHOUT hurting ourselves.

How? Since we all rely on our cars, we can't just stop buying gas.

But we CAN have an impact on gas prices if we all act together to force a price war.

Here's the idea: For the rest of this year, DON'T purchase ANY gasoline from the two biggest companies (which now are one), EXXON and MOBIL. And under no circumstances buy from CITCO. If they are not selling any gas, they will be inclined to reduce their prices. If they reduce their prices, the other companies will have to follow suit.

But to have an impact, we need to reach literally millions of Exxon and Mobil gas buyers. It's really simple to do! Now, don't wimp out on me at this point...keep reading and I'll explain how simple it is to reach millions of people!!

I am sending this note to 30 people. If each of us send it to at least ten more (30 x 10 = 300) ... and those 300 send it to at least ten more (300 x10 = 3,000)...and so on, by the time the message reaches the sixth group of people, we will have reached over THREE MILLION consumers. If those three million get excited and pass this on to ten friends each, then 30 million people will have been contacted!

If it goes one level further, you guessed it..... THREE HUNDRED MILLION PEOPLE!!!

Again, all you have to do is send this to 10 people. That's all!

(If you don't understand how we can reach 300 million and all you have to do is send this to 10 people.... Well, let's face it, you just aren't a mathematician. But I am so trust me on this one.

How long would all that take? If each of us sends this e-mail out to ten more people within one day of receipt, all 300 MILLION people could conceivably be contacted within the next 8 days !!!

I'll bet you didn't think you and I had that much potential, did you! Acting together we can make a difference.

If this makes sense to you, please pass this message on. I suggest that we not buy from EXXON/MOBIL UNTIL THEY LOWER THEIR PRICES TO THE $2.00 RANGE AND KEEP THEM DOWN. THIS CAN REALLY WORK.

I get so tired of hearing people bash Bush over oil prices. I have seen a few very intelligent people explain the problem. (1) the US is domestically producing the least amount of oil since 1949, (2) 4 times as much oil is being consumed world wide then 20 years ago. The rest of the world is now energy hungry like us. China, India, USSR and Korea are now consuming massive amounts of oil! (3) There is less oil now then since man has walked the earth! In my life time I have never seen a president do a dam thing about foreign oil dependency or alternative fuels. They all talked and they all sold out. GEE did Ford, Carter, Regan, Bush I , Clinton or Bush II try to find an alternative fuel source nope not a one! I strongly recommend anybody who wants to grasp what is about to happen watch a show called Crude on Discover! Also National Geographic's show Explore did a good show called Alaska's last oil. I believe within 2 years we will consider $4.00 a gallon to be cheap!

what thunder said, that is the truth, one more thing, this country is systematicly runnin the middle east out of oil while keepin domestic oil caped in the ground you can take that to the bank.

That's why I think it would be nice to see a VW or other diesel engine developed for airboat use. Then you could use waste fryer oil converted to bio-diesel, or, with the right setup, straight waste veg oil. Easier for you guys in the south due to the higher gel point of bio-diesel. Just my two cents.

I'm working on an extremely fuel efficient cheap boat right now. And Plum is right we are at-least smart enough to use up everybody Else's oil first. Here is a mind blowing fact does anybody know who is the single largest consumer of oil in the entire world! I think the answer will shock you!

I'm afraid we are too late...with India and China buying up any usable resource they can get their hands on the fuel we save would just be sold to them. Unfortunately right now the real problem is the dumb asses dumping their stocks to buy 100 dollar plus oil on the commodity market driving up the prices before the refinery even sees it.
The real solution is to start buying U.S. products while we still make some. Take a look around ...how many steel mills are left here or how many textile mills.

The oil companies still win...we are using the other guys oil for now. But the oil companies that capped the wells in Texas and Oklahoma still win because most of the oil leases on those wells have run out or are about to expire and they were written in a way that most of the original holders gave up future rights. I have relatives in Oklahoma who have this happening to them and their isn't anything they can do about it.
