Did anyone else see the "The Water Channel" last night? The had a half hour show on gator hunting in the Okeechobee. The show was on Dish Network. The name was Capt. Ron Ocean Quest????. The Guides name was Chris Rivers. Didn't show many airboats but showed them harpooning a couple of 10' gators. One got away, pulled out the tip. Seemingly good PR. They told how this is needed do to over population and over four thousand nuisance calls last year in the state. They also told how tasty the meat is and even cooked some cajun style.

you got to see one of the best gator hunters in the state. I watched him one night run and throw his spear about 30mph...he has a way of getting the big boys...

Chris Rivers is a guide out of Lakeport. He has a good reputation as a top notch guide and consistantly brings in the bigun's.

He is probably a legend over there. I don't beleive he has a fear gene in his body. If you want a wild and wooly hunt he can oblige you from what I know of him. he gets results.

Wish it had been on the cable channel but it wasn't. Always hear nothing but good things about that fellow. Knows his business for sure. Ya'll stay safe. Cajun

Ive never seen the water channel,is that on satillite or cable, seen some gator hunts on the outdoor channel, and croc hunts on tracks across africa. But never seen the water channel.

It’s on satellite. They show a lot of Offshore Racing and Drag Boat Racing. They also have a cheesy home shopping segment called Club Blue. This has from time to time good prices on stainless props and PFD’s by Mustang.

Chris Rivers is arguably the best gator hunter on the lake. He also does egg and hatchling collection. And not just on the big O. Also a nice guy who will come rescue you at 2am.

I wonder if they would be interested in the sanctioned airboat races. Would be great TV. Someone smarter than me needs to contact them and present the idea and see if they are interested, here is a link if anyone wants it.
