Gator hunting question ?

I am trying to find out if anyone can tell me, if you have someone just driving the boat, do they need a assisant's license if they don't help with the hunting and retrevial of the gator, or are they considered a participant and need one. :?

In Florida, a boat driver does not need an agent license. The driver may drive & work the light but may not partisipate in the taking, killing or harvesting activities or handle or touch ANY of the equipment used to do the harvesting. After the gator is killed & tagged, then anyone may assit in the handling of the dead, tagged gator.
You need to read the book FWC gives the trappers & know the rules. FWC is all over the harvest like they are all over the sport lobster season.

I have read the training and orientation manual, but the rules on that were kinda vague, and i was just trying to clarify it. I would be more than happy to by my driver a assistants license if it was needed. I beleave in obeying all the applicable rules for any type of hunting or fishing, and just was wondering how to interpet that perticular part of the rules

If you spend the $50 you are totally covered. If you don't just make sure the driver does not partisipate in the harvest/killing/taking.
In Georgia, everyone onboard needs an agent's license.
