I would like to know the pros or cons, on gear drives which ones . Need a wide gear 500 hp . Getting tired of where i go what ever is on their counter . Just need alittle input .. They say that stingers are noisey , rotator are oil leakers . precision got to buy adaptors Just like picking a girl freind. which one do i want ?

PRECISION = very noisy and very rough if any kind of cam in engine, however they are tough as nails but will shake your cage apart if your motor has a lope to it. oh yeah they are cheaper also. I had two of them was bad enough on a 350 with a rv cam but was impossible on my 383 stroker.

This happens because a gearbox is constant mesh a V8 is not constant power the PROP is constant drag so when no power is applied to gear box the prop bounces it backwards then the power comes back and hence the vibration.

I run a stinger now with the soft drive and it is a lot smoother nd less vibration. I have had no problems with the soft drive wearing out.

dont know about the rotator boxes

I like my rotator and it don't leak oil as a matter of fact every buddy that I ride with that have rotators theirs don't leak eather.

I have ran several Rotators on 450HP to 800HP motors. From 4.3 V/6 to 400 small blocks to 475 big blocks. I even put a clutch on a rotator on my step boat. If anything would ever break a gear box it would be a clutch. All of them have operated flawlessly. 5 Years ago I had a nasty heavy ride boat with a 600 HP motor and 200HP of nitrous on it that gearbox is still performing flawlessly in another boat. The Stinger is also a good gear box. The Stinger is a little more efficient but also more expensive. You can’t go wrong with either box. Classic has modified and updated the rear seal on the Rotator so the leaking seal problem is solved. I have ran or installed 8 different Rotators and never encountered a leak or any problems.
