Gear Reduction ratio change

Let's use a Rotator reduction unit for example, that is a 2.08 to 1. Can it be changed to say a 2.38 to 1?? Is it possible to do?? Or is it more trouble than its worth??

If they would sell the gears it could be done with the rotator but bud won't sell the gears he will trade you boxes for some cash and your old one. I have already looked in to that to go from a 2.12 to a 2.68 He want $1000.00 and my box thats was only 6months old at the time. you get a lot more push with the bigger boxes.

You will be amazed at the difference between a 2.08 to 1 and a 2.38 to 1. The 2.68 is awesome when you can swing a big wide blade 3 blade.

what becomes desirable rpm ( max engine rpm) with a 2.68 reduction and which prop diameter, quess this all depends on engine power, anyway what combos are people running with this gear ??
