general weight of airboat

Truck stops have scales take your truck and boat weight the rig with boat on the trailer take the boat off and weight it empty.

First you have to figure out what a "typical airboat" is......I haven't seen one yet that has enough in common with another one to say that both are typical airboats.

My 14 X 7.5 DiamondBack w/383, blet drive wieghs 2400 pounds, trailer weighs another 800 pounds. I took my my boat to a certified scale to have it weighed.

3000lbs for a BBC sled is about right. My old iron 406 13ft .125 deckover with polymer weighed 2,300lbs. I know my present boat is between 1,300 to 1,500lbs. It's safe to say the average Florida airboat is a 13ft A/C or SBC so I believe the 1,400 to 1,800 pound range is a fair and average weight of a three person airboat!
 
just my observation but it seems like you could get a whole lot more out of the boat if better lighter hulls when being used


my current one is glass (ways a ton :evil: ) and would guess it weighs in around 2000 lbs
