Just tring to save people a few dollars on boats. will be buliding brand new boats in a few months and they will be less than most

drawn over mandrel so 1" is 1" OD 3/4 is 3/4 OD and it is .065 thick hydraulic pipe witch is what most boat builders use.

In the case of which is the hardest steel: chrome molly is the hardest then dom followed by stainless then conduit.

c chardt, do you have any specs on weight? I know not all metal works are the same, so it is hard to judge. Do you know how much the material weighs per stick. EMT, ALUM, DOM, Stainless? Or if you built the same set of metal works out of these materials what they would approximately weigh.

not to sure, have tried to weight them but sometimes I forget and put them together before i have a chance to I have done all square tubing pancake cages that weight 52 lbs and most full cages out of square are 60 to 70 lbs seat packages and motor stands change alot most are around 100 lbs and up. One of the dom boats was 90lbs for the cage and the seatpackage was about 150lbs set up for a 350 and box. conduit cage was about 65 lbs and the seat package and motor stand was 120lbs set up for a 220

I have weighed a 24ft stick of 1/2" square tubing and it was 8 lbs 3/4" was 14 lbs 24 ft and 1" was 20 lbs 24 ft

I try hard to make it fair. I'm not out to get rich building boats I just have alot of fun building them (that's my quiet time) with little to no distractions just me and the welder
