Is anybody using Google Earth for your maps or planning rides? IF so what version and level are you using. I have Pro but its horrible resolution, absolutely fuzzy cotton horrible at any useable altitude.

Not much of the airboat country has good rez images.
Just the indian marsh down in area 3.
For some reason the indian lands are super sharp.

I don't think the image quality is any better with the pro version, than it is with the free beta

Mood ya know the or at least some counties have aerial survey maps flown at 400'. I bought a whole set for our hunting camp YEARS ago in Osceola County. Good resolution but they were blue copies like engineering prints. They are very large and take up huge space.

Google Help just replied they have 2048 resolution in Pro and of course you can zoon in with that. Just very unsatisfied with what I get with the $20 subscription version.

Next step up seems to be a $400 yearly subscription.

Long time ago I used to use TeraFly. You got a current link to the teraserver?

Scotty

NASA has a site very similar to google earth but with alot better resolution. At least in the US. it is called Whilrwind. It is a free download
the link
http://worldwind.arc.nasa.gov/

Download is on the right. diffrent types of maps in there too. Topo etc...

Wow ! I like those controls ! Seems though this program has the same issues Google Earth and Tera Server do. Just cant get in close enough to make out structures. I cant even make out the cabins on Buldozer Canal. Can't see my house on my street even.

Maybe they are scared I'm not a Real Estate agent or someone else with a NEED TO KNOW.

The wouldnt DARE use the NS words to me Hahahahahah. Anyway good nuff for general maps, in fact really good for that but relly past poor for any detail analysis.
