Finally took delivery today. I will get some photos tomorrow weather permitting.

I'm very excited!

what was that 3to4 days or 3to4 weeks
now you need to it together and than everyone will ask to ride with you on the monthly run. :D

Workin on it

I looked at it closer today and noticed that the stringers look like at least one has a slight twist in it at the top. I was disssappointed about this. Do you think it will cause the boat to handle poorly or is it just important that the curve on the bottom fit the bottom of the boat?

Also, there's a lot of "wild hair" (fiberglass strands sticking out)
in the corners and other spots. I think I will have to do a lot of cosmetic work to the hull to get it to look really nice. Is this normal?

Weather kinda prohibited photos but they are coming

Brand new Trailblazer

Way togo Red, :D

Nice & what size isit? Is Trailblazer the people at Interlachen? We've been told abt them at Palatka & Ocala & their good work.
Don't know abt FG much but make them clean up the edges & get the runners right. Looks like they're building a reputation in this area & should do everything they can to keep it upright.
You decide togo Auto Engine?

Looks like we're abt to bow out for now on the diesel scheme if we are to have an Airboat anytime before the year is out. The big guns we need for the electronic software adaptors move so slow I thimk sometimes they move backwards :(

Now watching the Trader sites for a big Auto that can later be converted & some are showing up that will do ok.

Thanx, Gben

Red, Did you get the seat shells too, with the boat . the fiber glass should have been rolled down . But if you got a good price like I think you did !Its yours now .got to start some where ! Youll get that disease like the other swamp heads here ! Let your wallet be with you :shock:You read the forum. One says cant buy more time ,another says break out another thousand and one says cant be handsome be handy Tell them to fix it .Tell them there is a picture on the web .It would be great advertising for them ,sevice after the sale !I am sure you would tell us !Glad for you .

Gben: Yes, they are in Interlachen. I decided to go with them as I know one or two of these boats that have been rode hard for many years and are still going strong. Perhaps I am just being too picky. As long as it took to get the hull, I'm not willing to wait for repair work to be done.

Fatboy: yes, I got seat shells. A single, a double and an extra single that he said had some bad spots in it, but let me have it anyway since he wasn't going to use it for anything. I can't see any real defects in it. I was more concerned with the hull than the seat shells anyhow. And yes, I did get a good price. He knocked it down a bit since it took so much longer than he said.

I know one thing, it's pretty heavy! I put the bow eye in today and went to move it. My Scag mower could not pull it unless I wet the grass in front of it. I think this is mainly because the rope was pulling down on the bow, pulling it into the grass. It is fairly easy to turn the hull around by hand, but don't even think about pushing it!

Red Dwarf, I to recently bought a new fiberglass hull. I bought a 13FT. big "O". I have to admit that they were perfect with the workmanship of this hull. I have absolutly no problems with my hull. It took 2 weeks from my order date to delivery. I sent them a deposit along with dementions and pictures of my old hull for measurments for my rigging. I bugged these guys alot with questions and they didn't mind. It was well worth the trip from Port Orange to Okeechobee.

I have seen several Big O's that ran great with a car motor them and Bandit was also building good fiberglass hulls that ran great with car motors on them. I have never heard anything bad about a BIG-O.

As a matter of fact I am putting a auto motor in it. Hope my caddy motor will do good. Mack at BIG-O tells me that he has heard of caddys in these hulls, but most of the guys down there are running big block oldsmobile. I'll soon be finding out. Got a lot of work. Polymer is my next step with some prop basket changes. Any comments good or bad appreciated.

Being that I already have the 472 caddy on my rigging, I'll give it a shot first. I will take your advice and try the olds if the caddy takes a dump. Thanks again for the input. WADE

Buick has a slight edge over an Olds for torque if I'm not mistaken.

I would think that your extra 17 cubic inches would be something you'd want to hold on to, and IIRC, the Cadilllac is lighter than the BOP motors

Hey! Red Dwarf, How did you put those photos of your hull on this sight. I want to show my hull to. Don't know my way around a computer either. THANKS WADE
