Got New Motor

Went over to Garys today ( Outlaw Aircraft Engine's ) and picked up my new I0-540 today. Man is she beauitful! Its gonna be a power house too! Will post pictures soon! Starting the rigging this weekend, and will see you all on the water very soon!
 
Great news Clayton, Looking forward to seeing the new rig. Are you still going with the 13' Wide track hull?

Predator, you didn't happen to see a IO-520 being built by Gary did you? Suppose to be done in the next couple of weeks.
 
Please be honest and when your done tell us which motor you were more pleased with the O540 or the 520. Just curious I know it's another Ford Chevy thing.
 
Will do thunder, i had the 260 horse 470 though. This motor i have now is about 315-325 horsepower.

Tony I think I seen it, i belive the case and everythign was together, but i'm not sure.

Dave(550)- Yes i am going to put it on a light weight 13'5" wide track cut-down to 16" in the rear. Starting my metal-work this weekend!

Started the Metal-work today. Got the stand pretty much tacked together. Wont be doing much tomorrow, just stuffing my belly with turkey and stuffing! But i Hope it have it all ready around christmas time! Will post pictures of the progress under TYLER WELDING FABRICATION gallery. Hope to see yall soon on a run!
 
Just to play it safe why not buy a temp gun and watch the cylinders till they break in, might keep your wallet from doing a back flip, I had 2 denzo plugs get loose, ( did not use the aircraft washers) Both cylinders got up to 550, Hot emough to drop the EX seats, (all new cylinders from Jr). Everything might look great but remember Murphy is always nearby..
