Sunday I got on the phone and made arrangments for Merl and RoHo to meet Cheryl and I at the Ramp. The water was up and the wind was blowin but whate the heck ,the weather man said it was goin to clear up and it did . with neither Merl or RoHo wanting responsibility for the lead I being the younger of the ole men set out to hit the marsh at Volusia Bar.The water was about 4"'s deep and I was enjoying myself.I figured that I might as well head out the old trail back to the lake since the water was up so good.Yea ,I figured wrong again .The trail played out ,the water played out and the Myrtel bushes closed in .I wasn't long before I heard the over the hill gang comin real strong through the bushes.Rohocleared the bushes on my right and made a left turn in front of me comin back on my left. His boat was ridin the clump grass wich was hold him up 2 to 3 feet above the ground wich was alright till his boat slide off while trying to make a turn. The boat didn't turn It just rolled over not all the way Just enough to get Cheryl ta screamin out of fear for RoHo .Since Roho's boat couldn't turn out of the grass and thick Myrtels were ahead ,We manually pushed his boat around.I suggested to Cheryl that she might want to help us old men get the boat around to were he could blow out ,that didn't go over to good at all .Merl and I made it back to my my boat were I keep a 100 foot of rope ready on my deck for such occasions seems that here latley I have been gettin stuck more than my share. We then waded through the thick and high grass back to Merls boat wich was ready and waiting at the edge of the lake with my 100 and another 50 of Merls rope ,I was ready to hit the Lake and we did.Cheryl was so happy to be free fom the marsh. We then made are way to the run were we cooked and BS'd about are little adventure and such .O yea ,Merl and RoHo did take my leadership credentials away for the day ,Hope it ain't permanent.

Hey Stan,

How you doing down there? Hope all is well with you and the family.

Is that airboat actually being held a foot or so off the ground by the grass?
By the height of the gunnel compared to the people standing there, that must be some damn tough grass!!  We've got nothing like that up North here... (luckily) :D Take care and be safe.
Brian.

Yea Bigkavr you guys have all that white slippery stuff man that must be some sticky grass I will remember to avoid that stuff

its them weed eaters gettin yall stuck stan, maybe you need some pvc, couldnt resist im bad weve all been in that predicament i keep plenty of rope myself , iknow you have one of every thing on your boat, thats why your gettin hung up lately might be time to lighten the load

Heck, I'm not going to name names to who it was but we were running the trails coming from the cabin and it was very dry and sticky. So the driver decided to take the tall grass over 6ft. Well he decided it was little to ruff and decided to turn on his torque side the boat torque over and we went flying. Heck the motor was still running while the boat was on it side. I moved real fast to turn the boat off. Then the hard part was turning the boat back right side. Man that something I won't forget. :D
