Grass Rake tube or solid ?/???

I have my fabricator making me a grass rake Out of powder coated stainless tube. It is for 18 ft Floral city . All I have to do is pay for powder coating and steel. Plan to mount lights in it for bowfishing . I live in northeast pa and there is not that much tall grass or cattails. Did I make the right decision with tube or should I go with solid one..

thanks jp

I love the look of a tube, plus you can sit on it and go when you gotta take a poo!

Now there's a mental image that I'd like to get out of my head!

I like the solid rake because it does give me about 3 ft more boat to stand on plus if you are coming off a bank into the water it will keep from swamping your boat and does not allow water to come over your bow

Ditto what he said.

I like the solid rake for the same reason sniper said. We have to dive off some pretty steep banks when the water is low on the river. You could always put a trap door in if you need to use it like huntnfish said. Just make sure a PVC toilet paper roller is used to get the boat through all that poo when your done. LOL! :pottytrain5:

P2 built this EMT tube rake:

I think it's a dandy!

Ditto to Sniper's reply. I almost didn't buy my boat due to the fact that it didn't have a rake on it, but after talking to Bobby @ Diamondback he told me he could build me a rake to fit my boat. Well, I installed it Sunday, fit like a glove, and after riding in the marsh there was not one piece of grass in the boat. On another note when I was looking at the possible purchase of my boat I called Diamondback, gave them the hull ID # they gave me their opinion of the boat and price, told what to look for as far as engine condition. That's the kind of service I appreciate. Of course they made no money on the sale, but I went to them for the grass rake. Another satisfied Diamondback customer!

Cowboy, Is that rake p2 built for the new boat? Or is it to keep the grounds at sawgrass U nice and neat. A piece of PVC might slide over that EMT givig it a much more functional look. :D

P2, at the U would a first offense posession of PVC result in a verbal warning,:director: a fine,or suspension.

Nah 550 they show no mercy but they do tell you up front (THERE WONT BE A FIRST OFFENSE)

Fish those are just nasty rumors about the beatings . They just make you tote a Cadillac engine block on your back to labelle.

Wow that's some amazing stuff there 550 . Did they put that stuff in your boat when ya wasn't a looking ? That's sneaky sneaky.
