Greg McCloud

Well-known member
Tried to order some carburetor parts from Greg yesterday and got a voicemail. Called a friend to make sure I had the right number. He had meant to call and thank Greg for some work he did for him.His wife answered the phone and told him he had died. GMAC will be missed. He was always helpful to everyone.

This is terrible news. Greg was one of a handful of people who ways always willing to help and freely distribute his vast knowledge.
Those will be some big shoes to fill, he will be sorely missed.
Prayers sent for the family and others directly involved.

Only guy I've ever done business with that shipped a product out without payment saying "just drop a check in the mail". His work was impeccable. Rest In Peace Magneto Man!!!!

I am very sad to hear this, GMAC76 - Greg McCloud always did me right, and quickly too.

Greg would ship right out on the basis of a phone call, parts would show up the next day and would include an invoice and envelope to mail my check back. I'm paid up with the man, but I still have one of his envelopes, pre-addressed with the stamp he put on so I didn't have to (or have any excuse!).

RIP to a great standup guy. I came to actually look for a pm I had sent him about a carb he overhauled for me to see this news... he was a great guy and as mentioned above there is some big shoes to fill in the airboat community! RIP Greg.

Really a great human being. I started out as a customer of Greg's, then over a few years we became friends that would discuss other things besides airboat stuff. He will be greatly missed. Enjoy Heaven.

Wow! This really is sad news. As mentioned, Greg was one great person. I actually sent him a text today to ask about a carb issue. I guess I will never get a response, but I may keep the text open just because.
RIP Greg.

Per my previous, I have one of Greg's envelopes left. I pulled it out the other day wondering what to do with it.

I decided after this thread runs it's course I will print the thread out and mail it all to Greg's Mrs.. He had friends all over.

God Bless you Gator,
I was rereading this and hoped that somehow she would find and see this thread after the fact.
What a wonderful idea . . . he truly was the type of guy that young folks should aspire to be.
I really like jopete's summation. Enjoy Heaven my unmet friend.

I'm bumping Greg back to the top.
