Thanks Red, I saw a fella yesterday that will not be having a good holiday! While at the Jolly Gator I witnessed this guy being cuffed and stuffed by the FWC. Don't know exactly what happend but (The Man )drove this guys boat back trailored it for him then put him in cuffs. Stood him in the parking lot for 30 or 40 minutes while the other FWC ran down another guy and gave that fellow a sobriety test in his boat. After that the officers took the fella put him in the FWC boat still cuffed. They put a red preserver on him because they did't want to uncuff him. Paraded the guy around in their boat like a trophy then went to the boat ramp 50 yrds away till an officer in a truck could pick him up. I really felt bad for the guy. WADE
 
the Wife and I went out saturday we were the only ones on the river and rode to the oak head (only ones there) for about 5 minutes then the FWC pulled up gave me a safety check then hung around for about 45 min asking me different questions then followed me all the way back when I stopped he just did circles .sunday the wife and I went out to possum bluff the only ones there about 5 minutes later the sherriff pulled up gave me a safety check hung around for about a 1/2 hour then went about a 1/2 mile away and waited. monday we just stayed home I figured 3 strikes and your out!! I didnt want to gamble that!!!
 
Croc - That sounds like harrassment. The FWS guys I guess are patrolling the area they are supposed to but I would figure the sheriff deputies would have a lot more to do on a big weekend than watch one airboat for nearly an hour. Talk about pissing away taxpayers dollars.

Heck, I could understand why you were the only one out if yall get that type of treatment. All of you fellows need to carry a little book and pen in your front pocket. Write the names down of the officers each time they stop one and take some notes. I would bet if they are doing this to everyone, then after a while you could get some politician to notice a pattern to airboater's harrassment.

I went on Monday to the Bluff and saw no law. There was a fair number of people out to. This was in the morning so they may not have been there yet though. It sucks though you cant go out and not get harrassed. For the longest time I never saw any law down at the Oak Head. It seems ever since that Easter event they have had more of a presence there. Or maybe we are just becoming more aware of them.
 
I'd like to mention also that When I used the boat ramp that the outboard boats use. One of the officers went to the FWC airboat took out the ticket book and watched me back my trailor down holding the ticket book standing on the ramp looking at my trailer and slowly moved out of the way while backing. I felt as if though he was just waiting for me to screw up. The glare that I got from him when I pulled up to the boat ramp left me feeling what the heck did I do Wrong. I felt like a criminal. The fella in handcuffs was Standing right there on the ramp with the FWC officers. I parked the boat at home and didn't go back out on the fourth like I had planned, felt safer at home, But that too seems to be under fire after the supreme courts ruling on eminate domain!
 
I know what you mean everthing he said he would give me that reading my eyes and body look to see how I reacted to his questions not a very comforting but he did let me off on my letter/number spacing . does anybody know what the laws are on a boat thats not in the water not moving and no key in the ignition to me its no different than parked in your back yard and you are out of town.Any ticket written should be thrown out of court ???
 
Dam Crock you got hassled again after I spoke with ya. Well I’m glade that law enforcement is hassling you, a working law bidding person you are such a threat to society. Much more of a threat than the psycho who shoots at people and Terrorizes people with weapons and violent threats and video tapes children under 10 who also now has a two time convicted child molester living with him. I wonder is it because the law is afraid of him or that they only hassle people who will pay the fines. All I know is you and your wife are no threat to society and you defiantly don’t race your boat so It must be the simple revenue.
 
yeh I would like to see the 140lb 23year old 1 year veteran of FWC that checked me go by himself to visit your sicko neighbor :lol:

i was out the day before the 4th and got a ticket for no flame arrester . when i was waitin waitin waitin heird over there radio they had a guy that had warrent and he was getting extradated back to washington st by the way no air cleaner 65 bucks no joke didnt even what to go on the 4 th

Mine too, have too keep sliding the page to the left to read it. Guess it'll simply fall off in the trash can over there after a while :(

guess we're gonna have to get new "big screen" monitors. I'm getting ,

The thing I have noticed about law enforcement is that they don't want to go after the bad guys. i quess it is because they might get hurt or worst. They rather harrass they law abidding people who are no threat to them. i have drug dealers living across the road from me and they want do anything about it. But, they will write me a ticket for not having proper equipment. What's wrong with this picture. Now they are targeting airboats. Again, because we are of no danger to them.

I used to get harassed a lot for fishing in parks at night.

I would look up and see drug dealers across the street :roll:
