It's been raining hard upriver from us and yesterday the river was up 1 meter. Today the river is up almost 3 meters and the entire route we mapped and hacked and cut through is gone!!! 10 miles of blood and sweat, backbreaking work turned into a straightline super highway now... Ain't Mother Nature grand?? We went upstream for about 6 miles before I turned back due to too strong of a current for the number of people we had onboard. Still got in about 7 hours of training today even with the high water... When we pushed the river upstream last week, the papyrus
reeds were 3 to 4 meters OVER the airboat. Today, they are at eye level with the operator.. Bummer....
Tomorrow (Wednesday) is my last day of training and last here in Musoma. Early Thursday morning, I leave with a tourguide to cross the Serengetti, go in to Goroengoro Crater and then another national park that I can't remember the name (go figure..) After that we go to Arusha for a day and then catch a flight to Dar es Salaam and then home......
This has been a once in a life time adventure for me and I've got Faron and American Airboat to thank.. Thanks guys... ( we'll see how happy I am with Faron when I get home and find out I caught some sort of critter while over here..)  Later folks Y'all take care..
Brian..

Yes send pix and the rain will take it! and don't become Lion food on the Serengetti, here kitty, kitty, kitty :D

Can you say Bwana Brian, I hope you don't come back with a bone thru your nose and your face all painted up

Well Guys, I didn't become croc fondue nor hippo pate' but the locals were sure to mention every chance they could how crocs LOVE white meat....
(gotta love a person with a machette in one hand and a sense of humor..)
I'm all done with training and a two day safari through Goroengoro Crater and Manyara National Park... All I can say is WOW!!! what an adventure and I didn't have to be the one worrying... Just sitting back and enjoying the senery and animals... What a Fantastic country.... I start my 34 hour flight(s) tomorrow . Yuck. see ya later..
Brian.
