My boat broke again. Who, what, where, when, can I get one of these and how much is it going to cost this time? Can I replace/repair it myself? Starter cracked from one side to the other!
Better to happen now than tomorrow while I am 8 miles from the ramp! Thanks for any info.

dang tony you keep tearing stuff up

if you can't find a starter or nose housing we can make you a bracket to hold a automotive type starter

Built a lot of those back in the day when I ran a starter and alternator shop. If Outlaw doesn't work out for you via location/timeframe. Any good starter/alternator shop will have the parts in stock. Just make sure to tell em it's for an AIRBOAT and they will most likely make you sign a waver and hook you up. At least that's what I used to do. And while you're at it, I'd suggest a new drive cuz they rely soley on centrifuge. Any rebuilts or old worn ones used to be a problem for us. Just my $.02

Felber.

Just when I thought it was safe to go airboating :?
I just got the gear rebuilt 3-4 weeks ago. Now its the housing that cracked. Outlaw has some in stock but he is far away so I guess I will be looking at the alternator/starter shop. There goes my hunt tomorrow!!

The alternator shop in my area that rebuilt the gear did not have a housing but he did give me some model numbers for my starter. I think I have found a nose housing for $50.

thats good enough for me.

Just have to thank Jonnybird as the latest member to go above and beyond helping the newbie. He got me fixed up with a new starter housing for dirt cheap. Helped me put it on and as if that wasn't enough he also set the timing and adjusted the mags on my little Lycoming and oh what a difference!

I cant believe how genuinely good the members on this site are. I am just glad to be a small part of it.

Regards,
Tony
