thanks for send the pics after priceing the part for the bell crank set up I just wnt ahead and got a steering cable and made the rest of the parts I need. but thanks for the help josh
You could make all the parts you need for dog-leg, Bell-crank, or crow-foot steering out of conduit and some flux coated brazing rods and/or a mig welder.
Conduit: $15
Haim fittings: $20 (need them even with a cable anyway)
some shoulder bolts:$5
misc bolts and washer hardware to weld to the ends of the conduit: $10
$50 steering
Bell crank just a triangle welded out of conduit.
It's not that expensive!
I did the same for my throttle - Got sick and tired of messing around with all kinds of cable setups- ended up making a rig with two bell-cranks and solid stainless 1/4" rods. Best throttle I've ever used on ANY boat. It does not even need return springs - the spring on the carb pulls the gas pedal back up! Made the bell cranks out of surplus haim fittings ($3 each) and 1" flat bar welded into a triangle.
Glad you got something worked out.... but you don't have to break down and buy parts so fast!
