High Speed Airboat

:thumbright: This one is really cool!

Chanced upon a video on Airboats by Exomos, and its a real beauty - fast & furious!!!!

It can hit a maximum speed of 50mph! Its reversing capability is another feature that separates this one from the other versions.

Did a research on the company -
Exomos is a Dubai (UAE) based company that designs and manufactures submersibles and watercrafts.

Check out the website (http://www.exomos.com) they have unique personal submarines the ultimate choices if you fancy underwater.

Hey Roberto,
Thanks for sharing the webpage, but I dont think any of us would be buying from the UAE since we can get Airboats in the USA. Our roots run deep in the Red, White, and Blue.

Thanks for the post, send us a picture of it running though if you get one.

As usual, take an American boys engineering and act as if you did something special. As far as I'm concerned they can take their America hating attitude and shove it.

Matter of fact, If it wasn't for American companies and technology they wouldn't have jack squat. You can't drill for oil with camels and chizzels you need good old american iron.

Red, White and Blue thats where ytou get a real airboat and they will do a lot more than 50 mph.

:p

The UAE is very pro America and pro Western culture.

That Exomos boat was discussed here quite a while back when Exomos came here and talked about it. Its not intended to be sold to us good ole boys, its intended to relieve some of these hyper-wealthy oil Shieks of some of their cash.

It doesnt handle particularly well, and its not practical for our type of running but it does pretty well in the bays and sheltered oil rig areas here on the Peninsula.

Ya couldnt give me one of them but then again they arent targeting me for a customer. Im pretty much for anything that relieves the Oil folks of some fo their cash though.

Hey Scotty, you also have to think about the U.S. companies that supply similar equipment to the Oil Field. Not this is has made a dent but they are trying.

I promote U.S. Products. I would rather seem them buy a competiters boat built right here in the USA.

I support US products when they are superior.

As far as I can tell, no US company has much to worry about from Exomos. IMHO its a piece of junk for hyper rich boys to play with and waste money on. Certainly doesn't measure up to anything I know of made in the USA.

Right on Faron, I own a business that sells products to Oilfield and Refining facilities. I can tell you this for a fact, the first thing those guys from over seas will ask you when they know you are in business is "send us one of the ones you sell so we can take it apart and reverse engineer it." They have no concept of loyalty or ethics. They have no contacts here in the country so they are your friend as long as you are lining their pockets. The next thing you know you have went out created a market for them through your contacts and relationships and then they come in and cut you right out of the picture. I have no respect for any business man I have met yet fro m that part of the world. All they care about is money and their self, but you can still have firm relationships with German and Japanese companies who still put a lot of weight in Honor and Integrity.

This is fact, I lost $500k in contracts due to their lack of business ethics and lies. They are all pro American as long as you are giving them something and when they figure out how to take it they will.

Remember how the Japs got into the US TV market. Cheep copies. Dirt cheep. Once they got their inferior product grounded in the US with cheep prices they began to displace the American manufacturers, then once they had the dollars coming to them and not us they bagan increasing the quality. Today we will never know if the US could have produced Trinitron quality or not cause all the US manufacturers went out of business, or were bought out by the Nips.

Sadly they did it with the governments blessing, and THAT really pi$$e$ me off !

As a matter of fact, thats why ya see so many Toyotas on the roads in the US as well. Same plot , same friggin players.

They might have somthin there with that "ducted" air flow to improve passenger comfort. they are not foolin me. thats just to keep from suckin towels off their heads.

This fancy-ass Exomos boat is using technology invented by the American company Hamilton-Standard prior to WW11.

As far as I'm concerned, they can stick that thing up their Arab asses.

I'm not disagreeing with any of this, but how can ya be so inflamed about the Arabs business practices aqnd still say nothing about the Japanzies or Chineeses? They are identical.

In my mind they are all poachers and bottom feeders but they all seem to have our government on their side.

I am inflamed that my government don't bann all of them from doing business in the US. They are doing the same thing with the tool and small industry business.

Nothing wrong with buying American today but dont turn around and buy Jap tomorrow and Chineeses tomorrow and Arab the next day.

Its amazing that once they got a foothold we all say well I can't find a good deal on a US car, Jap computers are cheeper and work just as well, Arab oil burns just as good as ours does in my car. Chineeses tools are cheep enough ya can buy a bushel basket of em and keep a new one on had whenever one breaks.

Yeh, Exomos is junk and likely using patented technology without paying for it. Whether they are or not I got no use for the thing. I'm a frogger and I doubt that piece of junk would be much at froggin LOL

Bear, I hear ya man ..... my GMC pickup was built in Ft. Wayne, IN and my wifes Chrysler was built in St. Louis.

I am 100% behind lookin at the labels. When I bought my pickup the salesman and I walked and talked, and then I saw that this one particular truck I liked had been assembled in Mexico.

I told him "The deal is off." He said "why?" I said "Look where this one was assembled". He said, "Well a lot of them are. It's still a GMC."

I said, "Find me one that an American worker put together."

He did, and I bought it. It ain't easy, but it can be done.

Wow I got a Ft. Wayne GMC too. Mine is an'86 model 1/2 ton with a new crate motor and 1 ton 4x4 runnin gear and a turbo 400. I get awesome gas mileage in town, its almost 8. On the highway it skyrockets to nearly 11 ! Well in the winter anyway, summer drops about 1-2 MPG on both. It was going to be a project truck before gas hit $3 a gallon, now its just a hauler. I'll drive it til I get tired of it then find something that will tow but doesn't require a co-signer at the gas pumps.

Looking at Exomos, they were bought out by Dubai Ports but they are a Frenchmans company! How did I suspect the French were involved someway ! LOL !

Scotty

My little 4.8 gets 25 mpg@ 75 with air. It's only turning 2150 RPM@ 80.
The computer shuts it off at 96 however. I've been meaning to get in to that one of these days. :)

Screw the French.

Now that was funny, I don't care who you are

Wow....welcome to the site RobertoZ

I think this is the point in the thread where Rich Andrews expounds on the virtues of beer.

I also think you all should know that I'm half arab, half chinese and half japanese!
